About Grondsoorten en delfstoffen bi

The shallow subsurface of the Netherlands mostly consists of sand, clay, peat, loam and gravel. This dictionary contains the names and descriptions of these soils and their manufactured commodities, including major imported materials. These are terms used by geologists, soil scientists, mining engineers, civil engineers, contractors, agronomists, producers and suppliers of building materials and - not least - in the vernacular. Further, the general geologic, soil, and technical terms and explanations are necessary for the understanding of the other entries. It includes a limited number of Flemish terms, for instance in the case of commodities produced in Belgium which are also sold in the Netherlands. Here we pretend certainly not complete (and are open to suggestions from Flemish colleagues).

There was a book, but this app goes one step further:
- term, meaning, synonyms, related terms, and classifications can be found directly
- intuitive browsing through the dictionary
- right options displayed during typing
- works on all devices, including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (only single use)

"Soil types and minerals by name" is compiled by MJ van der Meulen, F.D. de Lang, D. Maljers, C.W. Dubelaar and W.E. Westerhoff
