Utilitalia is the Federation that brings together the companies operating in the public services of Water, Environment, Electricity and Gas, representing them at national and European institutions. It was born from the merger of Federutility (energy and water services) and Federambiente (environmental services) offering assistance, updating and training services, as well as consultancy on contractual, regulatory, management, tax and legal aspects.
There are over 500 associated entities - including joint stock companies, consortia, municipalities, special companies and other entities - with a total of approximately 90,000 employees, a production value of approximately 38 billion euros and profits of 1.3 billion euros.
In particular, the Associates of Utilitalia:
- they provide water services to about 80% of the population;
- environmental services at about 55%;
- gas distribution services to over 30%;
- electricity services to approximately 15% of the Italian population.
