“incidio”. The name is a Latin derivative synonymous to the word: “Venio” which means “Happen”. I created this app in hopes of connecting people in a way that has been lost these days. The application provides a variety of available options like: “Hitching A Ride” ,”Marking help on Map” ,”Donate to the needy" etc. Without institutional support I can currently not avail some other features that I would very much like to add.
This app does not have a cultural/country-based restriction and can be used by anyone around the world that understands “English”. The language does not matter what I am trying to convey to you all is a set of ideals that have been shushed and shoved within our hearts so deep that even we can no longer access them. The idea is to bring people closer to the aspirations and the humane virtues that we have long forgotten. In a world filled with greed, pride, lust, gluttony and sloth I want this application to serve as a reminder of the most basic principle of our existence: “Co-existence”.
The platform “incidio” in simpler terms has been created to: HELP AND BE HELPED. The Google maps based application provides:
1- A way to carpool and ask for “lifts” under the terms of user agreement these lifts are “Free of Fare”, YES you don’t have to pay the lift. Since the purpose is to help people in need the ride has no financial charges, I’ll explain its working with a simple example:
Say I daily go to my institution in the morning at 7am and come back home at 5pm in the evening now if I add these details on my incidio account and another user near me has a similar route they can contact be easily and we can “Share” a ride often. I will not charge him “Money” because I am “CHOOSING” to help him of my own accord. The algorithm searches for people near you with similar routes that they may be currently travelling on or may have added as a “Regular”. This way I “Make a new friend” and he/she revitalizes their faith in humanity.
2- You can mark yourself of the map with your help and also view markers of people around the world that seek help. Say you are stuck at home due to flooding in your area or your electricity is out and you can’t leave your home but you need urgent medical supplies or you need groceries etc. You can add all these details along with your contact information on the map and everyone around you who is using incidio will be notified and if a user choses to help you they can contact or reach you directly depending upon the details you added.
3- Donations: With the help of our app you can donate funds directly to people in need all around the world. (This option is not available in the beta version)
4- Seeking official help. Sometimes you require help that needs a professional opinion and for that we wish to create a list of all “registered users” near you and far from you that can connect to you via our application.
5-In the future once the app reaches the hearts of enough people, You can expect options like:
Helpsfeed:
Like a facebook newsfeed but filled with only stories of human selflessness from history and real life events that people encountered that touched their hearts.
Safe Travels:
This will take some time because it requires official input. The idea is to mark places on maps where it is safe for you to travel and add colored zones with labeled percentage or probability of exposure to the threat at hand. For example you wish to travel the country but there is a disease outbreak, the map will guide you safely through areas that offer least exposure.
