About Circuito Storico S. Marinella

The Santa Marinella Historic Circuit initiative was created to recall the years of the Dolce Vita in our Santa Marinella, at the time frequented by prominent personalities in the fields of literature and cinema. The 1947, 1948, 1949 and 1950 editions of the Mille Miglia passed through here, and in 1962 sequences were shot for the film Il Sorpasso by Dino Risi, with Vittorio Gassman and Jean-Louis Trintignant.

The term Historic that qualifies the sporting event intends to recall important local roots, linked not only to literature and cinema, but also to science, architectural and archaeological heritage.

“I finally see a project come to fruition that risked remaining a dream in the drawer. Our territory will experience, through this sporting event, the meeting between prestigious vintage cars and the historical-architectural heritage of Santa Marinella and Santa Severa, recalling the myth of the Dolce Vita and above all seeing the important elements that characterize the city valued.

I take this opportunity to thank the municipal administration, the associations, the sponsors, and the friends who contributed to the success of the project, but also all the crews who enthusiastically joined the initiative. I dedicate the result of this effort to my daughter Marianna”.
