MatFröjd is an easily accessible and educational recipe application for the elderly themselves and their relatives / volunteers but also for home care staff. MatFröjd provides inspiration for planning and creating meals, so that both meal situation and quality of life are positively affected. The aim is to increase the quality of life of the elderly and strengthen their health as well as maintain or increase their physical functions and mental and social well-being. The MatFröjd app provides inspiration through wonderful, appetizing images that give appetite and food joy. The recipes are easy to follow with step-by-step instructions. In addition, MatFröjd provides a tool for selecting, purchasing and preparing food with regard to quality and health. The recipes are easy and understandable, even by older people / relatives / volunteers / staff with Swedish as a second language. MatFröjd contains recipes for breakfasts, snacks, appetizers, lunches / dinners, evening meals, drinks, bedside menu, flavor enhancers, leftovers and more. There are also recipes that suit the elderly with different cultural backgrounds. The recipes in the MatFröjd app are adapted to the specific needs of the elderly with tips for adaptations in terms of energy, enrichment, special diets etc. The MatFröjd app contains over 100 recipes. MatFröjd has been developed in close collaboration with reference and test groups, and the target group has had a great deal of influence over the end result. Hushållningssällskapet Västra is primarily responsible for the app TAKK-för-maten, but has been produced and developed in collaboration with several actors such as Alingsås, Kungälvs, Lidköping and Munkedal municipalities and the pensioners' associations SPF Seniorerna and Aktiva Seniorer.
