DiabMate is a companion app for diabetics who are using glucometers to measure their blood sugar levels. After viewing the result, the user may head to the application and select his/her most recent glucometer reading. The app will then provide the patient with information regarding his current blood sugar level, including symptoms, risk factors, and advice, in addition to meal plans. Safety features include the option to save and call an emergency contact in case of a severe hypo/hyperglycemic episode.
