The Heb@AR app is an augmented reality training app for academic midwifery training. It was developed from the results of the BMBF-funded project Heb@AR (funding code 16DHB3021) and includes 5 free augmented reality training units for self-determined learning of midwife-specific concepts and emergency situations.
On the one hand, it can be used to supplement practical units in skills labs at universities. Here students then have to make decisions during the training and carry out instructions themselves using AR on training dummies. These trainings require special training dummies and additional materials. Training sessions of this type in the app are “Reanimation of a newborn” and “Preparation of a pregnant woman for a caesarean section”.
On the other hand, students can use the Heb@AR app as virtual AR training for pre-training or to consolidate practical training units, regardless of location. Here procedural processes can be practiced without the consumption of materials or the presence of simulators. These virtual training sessions in the app are “Preparation for Emergency Tocolysis”, “Resuscitation of a Newborn (Rea Unit)” and “Female Pelvis Anatomy”.
