The audio guide accompanies you through the long history of technology and science: From antiquity to the age of industrialization, the deep connection between technical inventions and art can be experienced using outstanding objects. The app contains audio tracks and images for around 20 stations and has a duration of around 60 minutes.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Thousands of years old works of art that reproduce ancient myths, models of animated sculptures and impressive scientific apparatus from ancient, Arabic and Asian cultures - this is what the exhibition "Engine Room of the Gods" brings together from March 2023 in the Liebieghaus Sculpture Collection.
The starting points of this ancient research are the stars and planets, but also the close connection between art and technology. Numerous loans from the world's great collections attest to the lively interest in mechanics and programming from the 3rd millennium B.C. to the present
The exhibition presents over 97 important works from international museum collections and the Liebieghaus holdings - including the "Statuette of Imhotep", the "Head of a Buddha", a "universal astrolabe", the "Maria Immaculata" and Jeff's "Apollo Kithara". koons A multimedia exhibition architecture transforms the entire Liebieghaus into a museum in which art and science from over five millennia come to life.
