Contains the new BZF questionnaire - valid from September 2023!
With the aviation radio trainer, student pilots playfully practice VFR radiotelephone procedures and radio theory (BZF I/II, BZF E, AZF). Whether PPL, LAPL or SPL - the aviation radio trainer complements your pilot training. It doesn’t matter what you want to fly: glider, powered aircraft (SEP), ultralight (UL), powered glider (TMG)…

The app supports you in preparing for the practical part of the test for the "restricted radiotelephony certificate for the aeronautical radio service" (BZF). However, pilots who are already trained and other interested parties can refresh and consolidate their knowledge of VFR aeronautical radio with the air radio trainer.
To do this, users can simulate arrivals and departures at several German and Austrian commercial airports. The radio communication takes place either in German or in English. The interface of the simulator is very simple: no loud pronunciation is required! The radio messages spoken by the app are answered by assembling ready-made message modules for the correct transmission.
The air radio trainer enables the simulation of arrivals and departures at Austrian airports. Thus, the app can also support the practical exam preparation for the radio certificate in Austria (BFZ or EFZ).
A simulation of radio navigation procedures is also included in the aviation radio trainer. Both procedures in connection with non-directional radio beacons (NDB) and rotating radio beacons (VOR) can be simulated. Five replicas of different navigation instruments are available.
The radio trainer also helps with the preparation for the theoretical exam. The integrated theory trainer contains the questions published by the Federal Network Agency* (BNetzA) for the German radiotelephony certificates BZF I and BZF II, BZF E, and AZF. Incorrectly answered questions can be repeated separately and an exam simulation with random questions and a time limit is also possible!
In addition, the app helps to build up a vocabulary for communication in aviation English. A vocabulary trainer is available for this purpose, which includes over 100 aviation-related terms.
The functions at a glance:
✓ Aircraft radio simulator for VFR procedures (approaches and departures in German and English)
✓ Theory trainer with BNetzA exam questions*
✓ Simulation of radio navigation (NDB and VOR)
✓ Quiz to practice spelling alphabet
✓ Vocabulary trainer and vocabulary list with over 100 aviation-related terms
✓ "Dark Mode" for those who prefer to use daylight to fly (on supported devices)
*If the radiotelephony rights are acquired through an aviation authority, other catalogs of questions are used, the content and sample solutions of which differ from the catalogs of questions of the BNetzA.
