Tape measure measurements are good approximations but can never be as accurate as a real scale. Try it out and compare the calculation with the horse scales, you'll get a good feeling. Also, keep in mind that your horse's weight will fluctuate just like us humans. Because a horse is a little bigger than us, the fluctuations are also larger. +/- 10-20 kg is usually completely normal. If you have the feeling that your horse is missing something, please always consult a veterinarian.
