For the planned wind farm Deistervorland between Degersen and Redderse, we have developed a so-called augmented reality (short AR) app.
With the app you can project a model of the Deistervorland on your table or floor. The planned wind turbines are placed in the simulation. They are laid out in the right proportions to the Nienstädter Pass. In addition, there are comparison models such as the Cologne Cathedral, or one of the wind turbines from the wind farm Gehrden at Leveste.
And that is how it works:
- Start the app
- The app asks if she is allowed to use the camera. You must grant access, otherwise the app will not work.
- Touch the button "For simulation".
- Now the camera is started and you have to find a free space through the camera. The best is a table. The floor would go well, but then you have to bend down far.
- If the app has detected a blank area, a corresponding small rectangle appears. Now touch the screen. The map is then projected onto the surface.
- To move through the map you just have to walk around the map or around the map. If you want to enlarge something, just go closer.
Furthermore, we have a small survey installed. There you can state your opinion about the planned wind farm. Once you have cast your vote, the current evaluation of the survey will always be displayed there.
