About ImPuls

Physical activity shows impressive effects in the treatment of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and sleep problems. However, we know how difficult it can be to “really get yourself up” in order to be active in sports. For people who suffer from mental illnesses, there may be additional challenges such as lack of energy, lack of drive, tiredness, depression, self-doubt or even fears of not being able to persevere.

It is precisely for this reason that we have developed the ImPuls program, a sports / exercise therapy program especially for people with mental illnesses who are currently not or very little active in sports. With scientifically successfully tested methods, ImPuls explicitly addresses the challenges mentioned. Accompanied by experts, patients learn to build up motivation to be active in sports and to deal with the associated difficulties. The program has already been successfully tested on many patients in a preliminary study.

The ImPuls program is designed to build up motivation to be active in sports and to overcome difficult hurdles in this way.

We support you in finding a sport that you enjoy and that you want to practice for a longer period of time.

The ImPuls program can be combined with psychotherapy and medication, or carried out while waiting for a therapy place.

We know how difficult it is to integrate exercise into everyday life. The specially trained sports / movement therapists are trained to support you in taking the first steps towards an active lifestyle.

ImPuls is completely free of charge for you.
Stay tuned: So that you can maintain an active lifestyle in the long term, we have specially developed an ImPuls app that helps you plan and implement your sporting activity.

The ImPuls program is now being analyzed as part of the ImPuls study in Baden-Württemberg. In the boxes below you will find detailed information about the ImPuls program and the study.
