This app allows you to get information about Holocaust victims from Aschaffenburg directly on their smartphone. By GPS you get the biographical data about the persons behind the stumbling blocks.

All over Europe memorial places for victims of the Shoa in front of their last freely elected residences, as well as in Aschaffenburg.
Altogether, more than 100 stones have been laid in Aschaffenburg so far, mostly for Jews deported in the spring of 1942 and subsequently murdered.
The project "Stumbling Blocks in Aschaffenburg - The People Behind the Stones" was launched in 2014; Every year students of Karl-Theodor-v.-Dalberg-ymnasium compile about 10 to 15 biographies. In each school year, 15 students of the project class History of the 11th grade look for biographical information about the Jewish citizens in Aschaffenburg, which were dedicated to "stumbling blocks" in Aschaffenburg in recent years. These are provided by the pupils of our partner school, Rabin
High School in Kfar-Saba (Israel) translated into Hebrew in collaboration with Holocaust survivors and completed by archival work in Israel. The German students also produce an English translation.
The aim of the project is to raise public awareness of the issue and to bring people closer to the stories of the victims of the Holocaust.
The aim is also to bring young people from Israel and Germany into contact with each other, to promote mutual understanding and to create a basis for tolerance and friendship through a common history.
Since 2014 Yitzak Rabbin High School in Israel and Karl-Theodor-v.-Dalberg-Gymnasium in Germany have been working together for a common goal: To convey the personal histories of Holocaust victims to the public. In order to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust, the students research and write the biographies of Jewish citizens of Aschaffenburg, who were murdered in the Holocaust. Those biographies can be viewed with this app.
By working in archives the German students collect information about the persons behind the stumbling blocks that are installed in Aschaffenburg. The biographies are translated by Israelis students into Hebrew. The texts are available in German, English and Hebrew.

התלמידים בגרמניה כותבים את סיפור חייהם של למעלה ממאה ניספי שואה שלזכרונם הונחו בעיר אבני נגף. בעבודת מחקר בארכיון העיר אשפנבורג, בארכיון וורצבורג, בארכיון השואה הגרמני בקובלנץ ועוד, אוספים התלמידים את החומר הדרוש.
המידע נשלח לארץ ותלמידי כפר סבא, בעזרת מתרגמים דוברי גגננית, מתרגמים אותו לעברית ומעשירים אותו ע"י איסוף נתונים ביד ושם ומוזיאון טרזין.
בעיר אשפנבורג מציגה האפליקציה, תוך שימוש ב- GPS, את הסיפור שמאחורי אבן הנגף שלידה עומדים - בעברית, גרמנית ואנגלית.
