About Katja

We are a traditional bourgeois restaurant, which was founded on July 2nd, 1882 by our great-grandfather Georg Adam Winter ("Winter Schorch") and his wife Maria Magdalena (née Gruber, a daughter of the "Thomashütte" in Eppertshausen), in Heusenstamm, Frankfurter Str 28 was opened.
Previously, our great-grandfather was the miller of the castle mill at Heusenstamm. He was a passionate hunter who had leased the "Heusenstammer hunt" for 35 years.

After his death, his son, our grandfather Peter Alois Winter took over
and his wife Katharina (née Kunz), the company. Wife Katharina had learned the art of cooking in the best houses in Germany. Thanks to the good reputation of the kitchen, thanks to which the inn was given the name "KATJA" by soldiers who were at war in Russia and returned to Heusenstamm.

After the death of our grandfather in 1953, our parents Franz Johann Löw and Marlene Löw (née Winter) took over the restaurant and agriculture. After the death of our parents, we continue to run the restaurant in the 4th generation.

We strive to continue the tradition of our house in the next few years (5th and 6th generation exist).

We are looking forward to your visit.
