ZakRadio, the first Web radio in Trapani, is a young avant-garde radio station that focuses on streaming and new communication technologies: from the web to smartphones, tablets, PCs, smart TVs and the brand new Infotainment Car Audio systems.
Born January 1, 2014 from the idea of a group of young people with a passion for music and the desire to bring out a city like Trapani out of anonymity. Thus they founded the cultural association (non-profit) "ZakRadio" and to give life to this project they went far beyond the simple schemes of a web radio.
Why a web radio in Trapani?
Because Trapani is a fantastic city full of cultural resources, artists, musicians, directors, writers, painters, etc. that remains too often unexpressed ... The radio aims to give voice to the culture of a territory, the Sicilian and Trapani in especially.
ZakRadio .. how does it work?
We meet all together whenever there is a need to discuss and manage the activities to be implemented and identify the objectives to be achieved.
Then everyone manages his program or his activity independently.
Does anyone work at ZakRadio?
No, we are all volunteers and no-one is earning anything.
Does ZakRadio accept everyone?
Just share the basic philosophy and respect the statute of the association.

Ok, so I want to do a program of cinema / sport / history / independent music / information / in short, what I like! How can I do?
Contact us, attend a meeting and we'll talk about it. Then we will make a "zero" bet and if all goes well and you are ready to ensure the activity you are proposing, let's make a spot to put together in rotation, insert the program in the schedule, and we'll go.
But I've never done radio and I'm not good and I can't handle the technical part and ...
Quiet, none of us had done radio before we started! Even the technical aspect is not difficult.
The first few times there will be someone to support you, help you and teach you. You will only have to be available to learn the few things you need to know to go on air as soon as possible.
Can I make a program on my own?
Of course, but it is recommended that the programs are cared for by more people in collaboration. Everything becomes easier, the commitment is less and the results are certainly better; furthermore, if a week you have an impediment of some kind, your collaborators can do the same.
I can do a program a week, yes, the next no, the one after I don't know, the next one maybe?
The regularity of the schedule is important for a radio.
To skip an episode should remain an exceptional case. If you can't go live that day, we can record the program later and broadcast it regularly.
If you are not sure you can make a bet every week but would still like to be part of ZakRadio, you can collaborate with other programs. You could also make "specials" outside the weekly schedule.
Can I just do my program?
ZakRadio is self-managed: in order to exist, it needs a bit of commitment on the part of everyone for the general organization, the financing, the technical part, the resolution of any problems ... without fear, we do each according to their abilities, skills and possibilities .
Attend meetings, follow the internal mailing list or our official Facebook group and help each other as and when you can. Make yourself a radio as you would like it, nobody knows it better than you nor will it do it for you!
