It is a real pleasure for us, the rheumatologists of the Balearic Islands, to invite you to participate in the next XLVII National Congress that we are going to hold in Palma.
More than 30 years have passed since the previous Congress held in Mallorca. We have long wanted to host our Congress again, but things have not always been easy and to date it has not been possible to make that wish come true.
After a hard year and a half of pandemic, full of difficulties, efforts and uncertainties, and with a heartfelt memory for the victims, we are heading towards a future with hope. We wish, after such a long distance and virtuality, that the Congress serve, with due prudence, as a place for reunions. And that this climate of friendship and proximity facilitates the exchange of knowledge and the search for
excellence both scientifically and socially.
We hope that the attractive scientific program is to everyone's liking and that the scientific level is up to what you expect and deserve.
The location of Mallorca has made it a place of passage and meeting of navigators and expanding towns. Inhabited for about 4,000 years, it has been a place of crossing and meeting of peoples and cultures. Throughout the centuries the Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths, Arabs, Jews and Christians have left their mark on the island.
Palma is a beautiful Mediterranean city, open, quiet, welcoming, tolerant and with a varied gastronomic, cultural and recreational offer. The city and its surroundings offer countless attractions. La Seu or cathedral (emblem of the Congress), sa Llotja and the Bellver castle are some of its most representative monuments.
