The aim of the project is to improve the shopping experience of users, providing them with a flexible tool that enables transparent access to information they consider necessary, while allowing vendors to improve user satisfaction and automate collection information concerning the experience and customer preferences but without increasing the complexity and costs of logistics and sales system.
The GICA system has a Web and Mobile Application Application for commercial mobile devices with Android OS, allowing information management and pricing strategies of products and lots of food products to operators involved in the value chain thereof, whether producers, distributors, wholesalers or retailers (retailers) and access all the information on these products to final consumers.
The identified features add value in the chain of distribution of food products from producer to consumer fine. The most important features are:
Identification tags NFC products or batches of products. This feature allows more potential and uses the traditional identification through bar codes, allowing automatically associate each item with a platform in cloud, which put all the information you want on it, through its reading a commercial mobile, not specific reading devices.
Through the application developed, the final distributor can dynamically manage the prices of their products, varying them according to the variables to consider (fresh produce variations of intermediate distributors, specific offers, etc.). For example, from its own terminal, you can vary throughout the day the price of a batch of a particular product which has a lower expiration date, another batch of the same product cooler.
Traceability of products. All users will have the trace information followed by the products to reach it, with the date information and status at all times. Traceability function is intended to be automated, by reading labels for each member user in the distribution chain once you receive the product, and the date and location via GPS automatically register.
The value chain and price formation. The solution developed, complementarily to the traceability functionality, can provide users with knowledge about the value chain and price formation to final consumption, contributing to market transparency and to detect possible inefficiencies in each sector. The use of free databases, can make it very interesting this functionality not only for private users but also to public agencies that regulate or study the functioning of the food market, such as the Observatory of Food Prices.
The developed applications (web and mobile), provide the user with all the information for each product overturned in the databases created for it.
The system configuration will they incorporate many fields of information so that all participants in the production and distribution chain provide the information they want: expiration dates, dates of consumption; type of fertilizers used in the case of agricultural products; or ingredients, additives or allergies in the case of manufactured products. In short, all kinds of additional information and / or substitute want the supplier / distributor, who can provide added value to your product. This information may be accessible by the end user from NFC technology.
