Mazarrón is one of the traditional sun and beach destinations in the Murcia region to have more than 35 km of coastline, much of which is pristine coastline. But Mazarrón and the bay in which it is locked is much more. It has the essence of the Mediterranean through the remains left in him all its inhabitants from prehistoric times to its past times of splendor. This essence is found in variety of archaeological heritage (almost always linked to mine) we can find from prehistoric times as Cabezo del Plomo, to Roman times with Salting Factory or its Phoenician remains. To this we must add its linked to the fifteenth and sixteenth century such as the Castillo de los Vélez or the Church of San Andrés and most recently the City Council and various buildings of the early twentieth century monuments. But this Mediterranean essence is also found in people with a fruit of history and contact with other cultures, especially in the case of the center town of Puerto de Mazarrón character. Finally, this must be added a very linked to the land and sea with traditional dishes that combine both products gastronomy.
