About A-cercate: Guia del Cerco Indu

The Industrialization is, despite the progress registered in recent years, a UNESCO World Heritage considered minor by Spanish citizens, from a general point of view. This has been helped not only the temporal proximity of the events related to it, understood as contemporaries, but the utilitarian and technological concept itself inherent in industrial activity, which encourages the abandonment of that which no longer serves regardless of whether it is beautiful, interesting or not. Another factor that has not helped the development of awareness on the Industrial Heritage has been the lack of a scientific basis based on physical experimentation and chemistry in schools and colleges about everything that surrounds us and that makes it difficult for people, if not it becomes a pipe dream, understand the amount of scientific and technical human prowess ultimately occurring within a factory so that today we enjoy the world we know.

In the Valle del Guadiato in general and in Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo in particular this heritage, represented paradigmatically for its industrial Fences also evades this process of acculturation, with its set of annoyances and fatalistic conclusions. However, what if you unlike other bigger places with old factories and abandoned structures of production in its territory is the direct and stark link these with the rise and fall of their own society. The ruins of Industrial Fences, built almost in the urban area as a kind of tumor, thus associated with collective failure for people and represent the memory of a beautiful story that ends badly.

Null options reindustrialization of this space seen with dubious historical value for citizens who feel both guilty of Community disaster outweigh analysis sedate based on logical reflection and based on objective data on what was truly that site and what it means today to Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo.

Create conditions for there to be new and healthy interpretations of this place of memory work, planting the seed of new desacomplejados approaches, devoid of Manichaeism, which place the fence in the place it deserves in terms of social, economic and culture is not an option, but an obligation of civil society, public schools and local authorities.

RAZOR Association has chosen the path of education of the youngest to change this painful reality. Through its project A-cercate of promoting local industrial heritage in the young population has edited this field notebook on industrial Fences Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo order that groups of citizens of this municipality, one day, be able to perceive those old facilities, first, as they are space-time structures that speak of human activity in the place they live in, with a clear origin, with an even clearer objective and a final connecting to the context General of the European Deindustrialization; secondly, as their own, unique and a reason for local pride, accepting their shortcomings and, of course, your destination.

This notebook, with his tutorial is also a useful educational tool for those children and youth who daily visit the archaeological site of the Industrial Cercos accompanied by teachers and their families, facilitating the use of his visit to the cultural aspect and offering a thread designed to show this unique historic site in a fun and autonomous way.
