About Note & Chord Recognition - Sou
"Note Recognition - Note and Chord Pitch Detection" is a note and chord detection app for musicians (especially vocals and guitar or piano players) that listens to your music, analyzes it's pitch and converts your music back into an alternative sheet music. You can use it to detect the notes and chords of your songs, validate the pitch of your voice or to write notes and chords while playing along with your guitar (or whichever instrument you are playing).
The chord recognition algorithm includes the following chords:
- Major chords
- Major 7th chords
- Minor chords
- Minor 7th chords
The detection won't extract 100% of the played notes and chords but depending on the quality of the signal it will give you useful suggests. Because the app can't separate instruments you will get the best results if just one instrument is playing at a time. Also, you should place your phone in front of your instrument or your speakers to improve the detection quality.
Please note that the note and chord recognition algorithm performs intense mathematical calculations and it will take some time to analyze your recorded audio.
Further features that are currently under development and coming soon:
- Audio Import
- Tab sheets
- Scale detection
Having bad detection results sometimes? Try to close the app and let the noise get recalibrated and ensure that the music is recorded loud enough. Record volume has to be louder than the white noise of the microphone.
This app was tested with guitars, pianos and vocals but should work with every instrument as long as it plays notes above B1 (61,7 Hz).

Doesn't detect any note. Just puts random notes.

You should add a base clef. (or is it called a treble clef?)to the sheet music also how do you view the music when you play it back?
