Active geolocation is a Watch over my parents service. It is a simple and effective way for caregivers to exercise, even from a distance, benevolent prevention with regard to their elderly relative. It allows them to remain attentive to the safety of their parent and to put in place preventive actions to maintain their level of activity and autonomy.
Thanks to the Géolocactive mobile application, caregivers have access to geolocation data from the Bipper of their parent who is a beneficiary of VSMP's Remote Assistance in Mobility. Thus, active Geolocation complements and strengthens the Remote assistance service in mobility, because it allows caregivers to:
• Know at any time the location of the holder of the Bipper outside
• Retrace/follow his journeys thanks to GPS readings taken every five minutes, during his travels, in real time and on a 2-month history
• Be informed automatically, as soon as the beneficiary enters or leaves a geographical perimeter, called alert zone, that the Administrator designated by the Beneficiary or himself, will have defined from the website https://geolocactive-veillersurmesparents .laposte.fr.
With active geolocation, remote assistance in mobility provides real benefits for the whole family:
• Additional reassurance for family caregivers when their elderly parent goes outside, with the security of being able to know where they are at all times and even to be automatically notified when they enter or leave an area alert;
• It is also a prevention tool allowing them to identify unusual situations, and possibly the gradual decline in the activity of their elderly parent outside their home. Thus, family caregivers will be able to detect changes in their lifestyle and implement preventive actions to maintain their level of activity and autonomy. In particular, they will be able to ensure that he maintains a constant level of activity, that he continues to go out regularly to maintain a social bond or simply to do his shopping;
• Active Geolocation ultimately contributes to improving everyone's well-being, allowing seniors to remain independent and go out with peace of mind, and for loved ones to remain serene by watching even from a distance.
