contemporary art at the Idroscalo park.
A permanent open-air museum immersed in a wonderful natural setting that stretches for more than a kilometer, with sculptures by internationally renowned contemporary artists. Artistic expressions of contemporary environmental art by the young people of the Brera Academy, as well as temporary and non-temporary installations that will characterize the Park more and more over time.

Curious? The Idroscalo is an oasis of well-being of 1.6 million square meters, a green area that develops around over 6 km of pedestrian and cycle path, which embraces a basin of water
springs of excellent quality.
From an urban planning point of view, the Park is only 8 km from Piazza Duomo, is located within the South Milan Agricultural Park, is adjacent to Linate airport and at the center of important infrastructural changes. This makes Idroscalo a nerve center in the area east of Milan.

The idea of the Idroscalo as an oasis has been strengthened through the integration of a new cultural function. A dimension that wants to appeal to the soul of its visitors. We have transformed such a large park into the first public sculpture garden in Italy. For this reason, close relationships have been established with some Italian excellences: the Society for Fine Arts and Permanent Exhibition, the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Studio Copernico and the Friends of the Brera Academy. The contribution of the Banca del Monte di Lombardia Foundation before and now of the Cariplo Foundation was also fundamental, which strongly believed in the project, guaranteeing its implementation and enhancement. The Idroscalo wants to be attractive to artists, at the service of culture and citizens, to stimulate art and facilitate its appreciation. The naturalistic space next to the city constitutes an added value in itself: it is a stage which, due to its characteristics and dimensions, can offer uniqueness of suggestions, create exclusive elements for those who want to make art and for those who let themselves be intrigued by it.
Art enters into a respectful dialogue with nature, expressing the human impact
on the environment, reflects the naturalistic context in which it is inserted. The Idroscalo invites you to
walking in nature to discover the art that is integrated with it. We must break up
surprise by the dialogue between culture, environment and artistic creativity.
