Radio J is a Jewish community radio station established in 1981, broadcasting in Paris on frequency modulation (FM) from 12 a.m. to 3 a.m., 4:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. It shares its frequency with Radio Shalom and RCJ.
Radio J is the earliest of the 4, its programs start very early. It's the most traditional, and you can still hear Yiddish, Judeo-Arabic, Judeo-Spanish, and Ladino spoken here, as well as Klezmer music, old ballads, and traditional folk songs.
It also broadcasts community and Israeli news, and religious and cultural chronicles. The founding president is Serge Hajdenberg, older brother of the former president of the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France (CRIF) (1995-2001), lawyer Henri Hajdenberg.
