About AppliCALIM Grand Lyon
In 2021, five national network heads (CIVAM, UGESS, VRAC, Secours Catholique, Réseau Cocagne) joined forces with the aim of testing long-term systemic solutions promoting the advent of a right to food for all. This is the birth of the Territoires à VivreS (TàV) project which was deployed in 4 territories (Marseille, Toulouse, Lyon and Montpellier) in 2021 and 2022.
In the Lyon region, several complementary projects have been born to allow a global approach to the issues: by bringing together players from the entire agri-food chain (from producers to consumers) and by linking different levels of precariousness (players from food aid to the commercial sector).
After 2 years, these projects allowed the actors to anchor in their practices a territorial approach to the issues as well as a multitude of cooperations and poolings. They also made it possible to develop several large-scale projects:
- Initiate a collective procurement system with local producers engaged in the ecological transition in order to develop local sectors,
- Design a logistics hub and office project aimed at the region's food resilience by allowing pooling and the development of new services.
- Develop food democracy approaches through the development of third places bringing together neighborhood food stakeholders in “food deserts”: La Casaline in Saint-Fons, La Maison Engagé de la Solidarité et de l’Alimentation (MESA ) in Lyon 8th
