About Bugac - Vissza a múltba
Archaeological excavations have been taking place in the area of Monostordomb, located on the outskirts of the Bugac village, since 2010, and have since been regularly delighting us with sensational Árpád-era finds. The monastery was founded between 1130 and 1140 by the Becs-Gergely clan, which was a prominent noble family of the time. The settlement, located next to an important military and trade route, grew into the economic and sacred center of the Danube-Tisza region by the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries. The destruction of the settlement, which was considered to be huge and urban in nature at the time, was clearly caused by the Mongol invasion of 1241-42. We can now view the digital reconstruction of the golden age before the Tatar invasion with the help of the Vissza a Múltba™ application, which presents two historical periods.
The "Bugac - Back to the Past"™ application allows us to look around from selectable viewpoints of different locations using our device in the virtual space, which reconstructs certain historical periods of the given location. This application presents the Bugac Golden Monastery and the 12th-13th century settlement.
