About IberAqua

This citizen science project aims to control the water we drink at home by looking at its levels of chlorine, pH, taste and smell

Context
Periodic control of water quality is carried out by public health institutes. To keep water contaminants at bay, chlorine is used for its biocidal activity, and that is why we want to control the chlorine and the pH with which it has a lot of relationship.

Motivation
This project approaches the biochemistry and the scientific method to the youngest, learning about water and its treatments. In addition, a new data source is created that may be worse in methodology and tools than the official ones, but which has potential advantages in granularity in time, space (town to town, street to street, tap to tap) thanks to the work of citizen scientists.
