Manav Ashray (a unit of HELP Society), provides subsidized accommodation and complimentary meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) to patients and their attendants, who come to Delhi for medical treatment. These people come from various parts of India and abroad and have great difficulty in finding suitable and affordable accommodation outside the hospital.
Delhi highly boasts of world class facilities for medical treatment for a number of diseases, but the cost of treatment in a number of Government and Private Hospitals has consistently risen over the past, thus making it difficult for the people to cope with other basic needs like finding affordable shelter while their near and dear ones get treated in one of the hospitals.
It is here, that the role of Voluntary sector comes into providing facilities like food and shelter at the bare minimum rate to patients and their attendants. With this basic aim in mind, "Manav Ashray" was set up by HELP Society in the year 2003.
