The term Internet of Things (IoT) is no longer a hype or jargon coined by business/technical community, but it is a topmost technology driver which has touched the lives of millions through its applications in day-to-day life with great societal impact. Its multifarious role spans from a coffee vending machines to drones used in surveillance systems. Over the couple of years, even though there are numerous technological advancements in the arena of IoT, but its potential is not yet completely realized. With more than 75 billion devices expected to be connected via the IoT by 2025, has opened up plethora of new avenues and challenges for technical community in terms of creating an open standards for interoperability; leveraging with next generation networks for seamless connectivity; dataprocessing with edge computing; big data visualization, analysis, interpretation and convergence; machine Intelligence and AI in IoT ;security and privacy issues in IoT; device management and platforms in IoT.
