The Translation in the Language of Today, abbreviatedly called NTLH, is a translation of the Bible in a modern and understandable language in Portuguese.
This translation of the Bible adopts a grammatical structure and language closer to that used by simpler people in Brazil.
In its simplest and most colloquial language, NTLH is aimed at people who have not yet had or have had little contact with classical Bible reading. So it became a tool for evangelization because it has a clearer and easily understandable text, because it does not excel in the classical language that usually guides these translations. The new version, however, does not use slang or regionalisms, a factor that did not allow the biblical style to be lost.
The principles followed in this review were the same as those that guided the work of translation in today's language. João Ferreira de Almeida's translation and other good existing Portuguese translations followed the principles of formal equivalence translation. NTLH, on the other hand, was guided by the principles of translation of functional or dynamic equivalence.
In any case, it is a very useful translation because it brings the biblical text closer to the language commonly spoken by people on a daily basis.
