Energy bill is a significant budget to any house hold.
This app - Electricity Bill Forecast (eb4cast) - aims to help users track and reduce their budget spending and keep a tab on their spending unaware.
On the first version of the app, consumers of the the following states / providers can forecast their upcoming electricity bill
- Tamil Nadu (TANGEDCO)
- Kerala (KSEB)
- Telangana (TSSPDCL, TSCPDCL, TSNPDCL)
- Haryana (DHBVN, UHBVN)
Specially this app focuses on the following
1. Forecast your energy bill (without even a smart meter)
2. Preloaded tariffs - you dont need to configure / enter the tariff
3. Savings table - a unique feature provides you insights how much budget savings can be made when you reduce your power consumption motivating you to
4. Visualize trends of your final bill amount and consumption
5. Get recommendations for energy saving products, energy monitors
Interesting fact:
Some states in India follow a non-telescopic tariff (rate card), that provide significant savings or loss when your consumption crosses a particular limit.
For e.g. Tamil Nadu (TN) has a tariff structure, where when consumption crosses 500 units per cycle, the final bill amount spikes by 13%.
If the consumption is closely tracked, consumers can save BIG on their budget
