The mbits PIA app (Patient Information and Tracking) enables the electronic communication of messages, appointments and information to patients during an inpatient hospital stay. Patients often do not feel sufficiently informed about upcoming appointments (e.g. rounds, surgery) and postponements (e.g. postponement of a CT appointment due to emergencies) in everyday hospital life. The mbits PIA app, which serves as an information system for patients, was designed to make hospital processes more efficient, to better inform patients and thus also to increase satisfaction and save costs. With this app, patients receive timely information on current events and appointments on their smartphone. The development of this app is carried out by mbits imaging GmbH in cooperation with the urological clinic of Heidelberg University Hospital.
