This coefficient directly increases or decreases the cost of OSAGO insurance for the driver, since the price of the policy is multiplied by this number when calculating it.
According to the legislation, the MSC value can vary from 0.5 to 2.45. That is, for the same car and driver, the price of the CTP policy can differ by almost 5 times! This is why it is so important.
How is it calculated? When the driver receives a license, he is assigned a MSC = 1.0. That is, multiplying by 1, the policy price does not change. If the driver drives without accidents, then every year the MSC gradually decreases and in 10 years can reach 0.5. Thus, for such a driver, the price of the policy will be 2 times lower, all other things being equal.
If the driver commits an accident, then the coefficient rises sharply. Especially if there were several such accidents in a year.
