The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) is an international household survey programme developed by UNICEF in the 1990s. MICS is designed to collect statistically sound, internationally comparable estimates of key indicators that are used to assess the situation of children and women in the areas of health, water and sanitation, education, child protection and HIV/AIDS as well as monitor progress made towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and other internationally agreed upon commitments including Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
