Güzelbahçe, whose oldest name was Kilizman, became a subdistrict of Urla in 1936 by taking the name Kızılbahçe, it got the municipality in 1954, took its current name on July 6, 1957 and left Urla and became the district center of the Central district. After the September 12, 1980 revolution, the municipality was abolished and connected to Izmir Municipality as a neighborhood, and the development of Güzelbahçe was stopped.
