About Aakkam foundation: Founder's message
We are one among young and energetic working professionals who woke up during Chennai floods. Sitting in room similar to many people, we guys were watching news, going through facebook posts, contacting friends, playing carrom during flood time. Basically I am from Coimbatore so to go to my native came out and found many people were starving for food, loosing their house and sitting in rain
Particular moment felt very low on myself and through facebook posted on this for raising fund, really thought of giving some 10K for Chennai relief but my friends donated their part and gave me privilege to engage in activities. We joined together at Coimbatore, collected items, family members supported us in packing and sent to Chennai and Cuddalore. I always think more than spending money reaching to right people is more important so we formed team directly in Chennai & Cuddalore for direct distribution. I thank all my ground level people who helped in reaching those items to right people. Followed to that we continued our activities in multiple ways and finally we planned, discussed and started our TRUST named "AAKKAM Foundation" with all my friends and family support after many hurdles & tough time. We are just a small group so we try our best to serve society as much as possible to real needy people. Our primary focus is to support education for most backward village students, to improve our govt schools with quality education., etc. We also supporting blood donation for needy people, open opportunities(share known opportunities in WhatsApp- we are not part of any HR or consulting firm) .
