Spades is a popular card game with the easiest rules. This simple card game is perfect for beginners or anyone with not a lot of experience in card games. Just bid on how many tricks you think your team can take, and outplay your opponents to win.

How to Play Spades

Bidding

The game starts by dealing each player 13 cards. Each player take turns bidding on how many tricks they can win. A duo is formed with the bot across the player, and their bids combine to form a total bid to win.

Winning Hands

A player starts the game by throwing any card on the table. To win the trick, another player should proceed by throwing a card of the same suit with higher number. If the player does not have any card of the same suit, they can throw any card including a trump card, which is any card from the spade suit.

If all the same suits are played, the player with the highest number from a suit wins. When a trump card is played, the player with the highest number of the trump card wins the hand.

The card is ranked highest to lowest as: A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2

Total Points

Choose 250 or 500 as a score to win in Spades. With every trick won, the players gains 10 points and reaches closer to meeting the bid set as a duo. When a round is completed, the duo with the most bids set and achieved gathers more points. The duo that achieves the winning score points first wins the game.
