Since man has been on earth there has been a desire and an attempt to get closer to God. Even false religions have existed since the dawn of history. Clearly the Bible tells us that Cain established his own system for approaching God - he established his own religion. Genesis tells us that Cain wanted to present his offering in his own way before God. There have been many established religions throughout history. Many of them have already disappeared while new and still modern ones frequently reappear. There are some of the oldest religions that have been thousands of years since they began and have millions of adherents or followers in the world. Some are passive religions while others are very militant religions. Here is a diagram, a diagram of religions, which helps us to locate ourselves in the labyrinth of religions in the world.



It is good to know the historical background of things. Sometimes it helps us to appreciate what has been achieved and better understand certain goals. However, we must not live or remain in the past, nor end up being slaves of the past, but we must reach out into the future with a view to achieving greater triumphs and victories.
