The "La Via dei Marsi" project - www.laviadeimarsi.it - conceived by Sergio Rozzi and promoted by the E.R.C.I. team Onlus, wants to be a contribution to the promotion of soft mobility in the Marsica Fucense area. A Marsican Network between: Protected areas, Natura 2000 sites, inland areas (Valleys of Giovenco, Vallelonga and Valle Roveto), agricultural areas, urban and suburban parks, villages, hamlets, places of interest and municipalities & cities.
Acting in particular in sport, activities related to free time (outdoor), as a learning ground for the sustainable development of society in the sense of maintaining the balance between ecology, the economy and the socio-cultural dimension. The project also aims to foster the mutual interest between managing bodies of protected areas, municipalities, public and private organizations to collaborate jointly for the promotion of strategies and methods for the enhancement of mountain, cultural and tourist resources, as well as the enhancement of human resources and cultural heritage of the respective territories through new initiatives and participatory forms of organization and collaboration, both at regional, national and international level, in the cultural, economic and scientific fields.

The route is generally easy, taking place mainly on dirt roads and well-marked paths where you can walk easily. There are no exposed or dangerous sections.
The first and the penultimate stage are the most demanding on the physical level, the central ones are easier, however, a fair amount of training and the habit of walking for a few hours are necessary. Along the route, for now, there is no specific signposting of the path, use the signs existing in the “Monte Salviano” Regional Nature Reserve and the PNALM signs, with sections marked by the CAI. During the reconnaissance and tracing treks of the path, a database was created with all the necessary information, including criticalities and problems. A minimally invasive, but structured with appropriately significant references to the portal (www.abitat.it/viadeimarsi.it), such as Qr-code and NFC, is being studied in connection with that of the PNALM, to equip all historic centers and villages (urban routes) of smart tools, starting with the weakest users / citizens, such as the disabled. Throughout the route there are water points, where you can refuel. However, following this APP the path can be easily followed,
The route starts from the railway station and public and private bus lines of Avezzano, Piazzale Kennedy, easily reachable and ends in Pescasseroli where regular buses take you back to Avezzano (www.tuabruzzo.it).
For those with a few days available, it is possible to divide the route into shorter sections.
For overnight stays and where to eat there are no problems, as each stopover has a B&B, a hotel or a restaurant, it is always better to book.
The route is full of cultural and naturalistic points of interest, archaeological sites, churches, castles and historic villages.
It is advisable to visit the website (www.parcoabruzzo.it) of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise to get all the scientific information and ongoing activities.
