Free equipped beaches and bathing facilities accessible to people with motor disabilities
The Regional Council for the protection of the rights of the handicapped person and the INAIL Regional Directorate Liguria in collaboration with the Liguria Region, Department of Tourism, present, with this publication, the results of the mapping of the Ligurian beaches accessible undertaken in 2014 and updated in June 2018 .
The "Sea Guide" aims to describe accessible services and bathing facilities accessible to disabled people in Liguria, with particular attention to people with motor deficits.
Presence of parking spaces for the disabled nearby, absence of architectural barriers that can affect access to the structure, access ramps in accordance with other systems or overcoming barriers, presence of toilets suitable for people in wheelchairs: these are some of the minimum requirements for to be part of the publication containing, with an easy-to-read graphic, the list of 127 accessible realities in the region: 36 in the province of Genoa, 24 in the province of Imperia, 50 in the province of Savona, 17 in the province of La Spezia.
An initiative, that of Liguria, in line with the objective, common to the promoting bodies, to favor the integration of people with mobility disabilities in terms of mobility and tourism and to extend the audience of potential beneficiaries of the bathing activities present in the region.
