The e-AMD app is an educational tool for the diabetic and for communicating with the diabetologist.
It is divided into a collection of questionnaires concerning the most common topics that a diabetic must know and in a clinical diary, where the person with diabetes can record the therapy taken, the laboratory data in his possession and text messages. The questionnaires (what is diabetes, self-control, physical activity, hypoglycemia, diabetic foot ...) with the relevant correct answers and specific educational insights - in the form of texts or slides or videos with audio - are available to the diabetic and can be consulted freely.
The app, if the user so wishes, can ask the technically provided diabetologist to be able to send the laboratory data collected by the diabetic himself to his folder, together with short text messages.
The doctor, on the basis of the data received or his knowledge of the case, can give his educational indication on a specific health topic to be studied in depth and respond to the text messages received.
The diabetic can also send to the doctor the therapy actually taken, with the inevitable variations related to daily life, in order to keep him informed on his real adherence to the treatment.
The system therefore facilitates the training of the person with diabetes and the communication between doctor and diabetic.
