From 1947, the year of its establishment in Milan, the Italian Cineteca - become foundation from
1996 - carries out an uninterrupted activity of conservation and enhancement of the filmic heritage and of
diffusion of the cinematographic culture both in Italy and abroad.
Cinematographic projections
The Cineteca carries out intense screenings in Milan and Lombardy
At the Spazio Oberdan of the Province of Milan the Film Archive projects more than 400 films a year,
organizes events, meetings, shows and events including the “Italian cinema seen by
Milan, now in its fifth edition. From October 2006 the Cineteca manages the two rooms of the Area
Metropolis 2.0 by Paderno Dugnano where close to first-run films an intense activity takes place
morning screenings for schools and the organization of cinematographic exhibitions. All
the cinematographic activities are supported by: General Direction of Cinema, Province of Milan
Culture Sector, Lombardy Region Cultures, Identities and Autonomies of Lombardy, Municipality of
Milan, City of Paderno Dugnano.
