The analysis of the territory and the survey of the training needs, carried out on teachers, students and parents, have confirmed that the Institute is the meeting point, for the functions that belong to it, between the expectations of the users and the social reality. economic within which it is placed. In a world of work that increasingly requires solid basic training, specific advanced skills and flexibility, ITT intends to respond to the legitimate expectations of students and families, using all the possibilities offered by the new legislation on school autonomy. In this sense, the School / Work Alternation paths and the Certifications that denote the mission of the Institute are highlighted: a school that changes according to technological innovation and the needs of the world of work.

The "Modesto Panetti" Technical Technological Institute operates in the area with specializations in Chemistry, Materials and Biotechnology, Electrotechnics, Electronics, Information Technology and Telecommunications, Evening Course in Electrotechnics. Over the years it has been gradually renewed to respond in an ever lively and adequate way to the new needs of the person, citizen and student projected towards the university and / or working future.

The Technological Institute "Pitagora" Construction Environment and Territory, former Surveyors, one of the oldest in the South, was born in Bari in 1866 with the name of "Royal Technical Institute" and until the early 1900s was located in Palazzo De Gemmis , in Via Abate Gimma. In the 1920s it found its place on the premises of the current University until March 1930, when the construction of a building owned by the Province was completed in Corso Cavour 249, which from that moment became the permanent seat of the I. T. S. C. G. Giulio Cesare, Institute for surveyors and accountants. In 1967-68, Julius Caesar was assigned another location and the institute returned to being only for surveyors, taking on the name of the "Pythagoras" State Technical Institute for Surveyors.
