** This application is the product of a two-year project carried out by students of the ISB 5 ° class of the ITET FONTANA in Rovereto on a proposal from the Municipality of Calliano (TN). The application was created with the support of the Smart Community Lab unit of the Bruno Kessler Foundation. Currently the application, in Beta version, can be used only within the Municipality of Calliano where points of interest have been identified in which sensors have been placed that allow it to operate. **
A Occhi Chiusi serves as a supplementary aid to orientate the blind or partially sighted person in an urban space, in which sensors are positioned at points of interest. The application detects the presence of the sensor and indicates its approximate distance, allowing the person to orientate himself and confirm where he is.
The interface is essential and is designed to have a simple interaction with the automatic reading devices.
What the application does:
* Send notifications that alert the user when approaching a point of interest where a sensor is located. Opening the notification directly accesses the details page of that point, for which further information is provided.
* The distance from a point of interest is signaled with three expressions, "You are very close", "you are close" and "you are far". The distances are approximate.
* Entering the application you access the list of points of interest detected at that time. The user can select the point of interest and consult his description.
* Accessing the Settings you can activate or deactivate the automatic reading of some screens when the VoiceOver or TalkBack function is not active.
