Directline Assurance Company Limited was incorporated in 1998, licensed in October 2005 and commenced operations in November 2005. Offering general insurance, and specifically, motor vehicle insurance. The Company is the first Kenyan niche underwriter focusing solely on motor vehicle insurance. The Company began with Public Service Vehicle (PSV) underwriting in its first seven years of operation and is currently offering other Motor Commercial subclasses. The Company has grown to be the largest PSV underwriter in Kenya with a market share of approximately 60% at the end of the year 2011. It is the largest motor commercial insurer.
