About La Veterana 103

Since 1942, Lebanon, a born land of writers and journalists, ventured into the fantastic world of radio, in an incipient and rudimentary way, opening a path of illusions and desires to reach the audience. There were many attempts to generate a real project that would at least cover the municipal territory, but one by one all failed.

It was until the end of 2011, with the arrival of Mr. Jaime Arturo Herrera Afanador, that a new stage begins with the installation of the Veterana, with 1000 watts of power and an interesting municipal coverage, which counted on the technical and journalistic work of Julian "Tuto" Villon and Ayda Jenny Fuquene. In 2012, under the direction of Afranio Franco Ballesteros and José Gutiérrez González, the first news of this station was born: Regional Focus.

The acceptance by the listeners of this radio station, led to that in 2013, two large Tolmen radio businessmen and numerous companies, Pompilio de Jesus Avendaño and German Charry Alcalá, advised by Afranio Franco Ballesteros, decided to associate and acquire initially 50% of the station and then the whole of it, in order to start a radio project that covers the entire center of the country. To this end, a headquarters is acquired, and a millionaire investment is made in order to equip the station with the most modern equipment and reach a power of 5000 watts, which the signal reached nine departments and more than five hundred municipalities of the center of Colombia. In October of that year begins this new era of the Veterana 103.5 F.M, the Center of the Country.

This business project currently generates 15 direct and 17 indirect jobs, since it has correspondents in several municipalities in the country and abroad. Likewise, an important social investment is made towards the community, with popular celebrations, such as Christmas, Mother's Day, Women's Day and participation in many social activities that require the presence of the latter, without a doubt, the best means of communication in the north of Tolima and in the central region of our country.
