The Young Athletes application contains an activity manual, activity cards and video trainings for the implementation of the eponymous accredited sports program of the Special Olympics intended for children with and without intellectual disabilities aged 2 to 7.
APP is intended for trained educators who conduct the program in kindergartens, as well as parents and family members of children with intellectual disabilities, who conduct training with children in their homes. The APP makes the Young Athletes program more widely available as a significant service for early intervention in children.
The progress of children with intellectual disabilities, who participate in program sports activities, is measurable and visible in the development of motor, social and cognitive skills.
APP was published by the Special Olympics of Montenegro with the support of the UNICEF office in Montenegro.
