Tragovima madonera

The icons "Traces of the Madonna" show the motives of Croatian Catholic heritage between the 12th and 16th centuries. The different stylistic periods and rich expression of numerous art workshops of that time vividly testify to the importance of the Adriatic area as a key hub of culture. The exhibited icons originate from the churches and temples of cities on the Adriatic coast. The main motives are Mary and Jesus - Madonna and child.
Being icons of different levels of preservation and accessibility, the artist's main goal is to present them in full splendor and original beauty, using the techniques of the old masters and following the strict rules of icon making.
