The Vessel Identification System (SIV) of the Malaysian Fisheries Department was developed for;
1) Create a platform to identify the authenticity of vessels operating in the waters by checking the license information on the QR plate installed on the vessel;
2) speed up the review process through the use of mobile applications; and
3) The SIV system has been integrated with the eLicense system to facilitate the review and generation of information reports.
