About MeditaCoeur

Welcome to the application of Christian meditations MeditaCoeur which accompanies the book of Stéphanie Halperson "Meditating with her heart and her five senses" published by Editions des Béatitudes.

This version of the application offers 4 sections:
1. MEDITATIONS: listen to the meditations in the book. New meditations will be offered regularly.
2. BODY BREATHING AND RELAXATION EXERCISE: Practice a full body breathing and relaxation exercise before meditations. New exercises will be offered regularly.
3. TEXTS: read extracts from texts of Saints in relation to meditations. New texts will be offered regularly.
4. PRESENTATION: instructions for use of the application.

1. THE MEDITATIONS
These guided Christian meditations engage the imagination and the five senses. Many are inspired by the retreats according to the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius carried out by Stéphanie Halperson. These meditations, which were experienced and worked on with Father Sébastien Marie (csj), are preceded by a short bodily exercise of breathing and relaxation in order to sharpen our receptivity.

These meditations are inspired by a few passages from the Bible:
"Whoever looks towards him will shine, without shadow or confusion in the face. »Psalm 33
"The Kingdom of God is within us" Luke 17
“Remain in me, as I in you. »John 15
“We are one body in Christ. »Romans 12
"He who unites with the Lord makes one spirit with him. "1 Co

Before starting the meditations, it is recommended to:
. Sit in a quiet place and make sure you are not disturbed.
. Do the meditation while lying or sitting, eyes closed.
. Follow the order of the meditations.
. These meditations appeal to my imagination and my five senses. Without forcing, I try to see, hear, taste, feel what is on offer.
. If any "parasitic" thoughts or emotions arise during meditation, I welcome them and let them go before returning to meditation.
. If I feel the need, don't hesitate to take a break during meditation.

2. BODY EXERCISE OF BREATHING AND RELAXATION
Each meditation is preceded by a short bodily exercise in breathing and relaxation. However, it is recommended to practice the more complete exercise suggested in this section.
Our brains work on five different types of brain waves. For example, beta waves correspond to phases of activity while delta waves relate to sleep. The proposed exercises promote a calm state of consciousness in alpha waves. Our receptivity will be sharpened so that we are fully imbued with meditations.

3. TEXTS
The proposed texts, most of them from Saints, are related to each meditation. Reading them before each listening allows you to better soak up the meditations. The title of each text corresponds to the name of the meditation. For example: Meditation: BREATHE IN GOD - Text: BREATHE IN GOD
Each meditation is inspired by passages from the bible found in the book "Meditating with your heart and five senses".

THE AUTHOR
Stéphanie Halperson, mother of two children, lived part of her childhood in front of the Carmel of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux where her great-grandmother ran a religious souvenir shop. Before her conversion to the Christian faith, Stéphanie practiced various kinds of meditations from Eastern traditions with the help of a Buddhist cousin monk. Failing to find peace of heart, she ended up sinking into what she sought to flee: emptiness. It was by going to practice silence in a church, as his Buddhist master had taught him, that the incredible power of the love of God came to fill this inner void. This decisive experience offered him a sensitive faith as well as the grace of prayer.
