The primary purpose of the app is to act as a communication platform. It is very important that all employees are informed about what is happening in the Bauhaus and how things are going in our company. Therefore, we have chosen that the platform can be accessed both during and outside working hours. When we can see that almost everyone owns a smartphone, it is obvious to use an app that can be accessed from both smartphone and computer. That way, we can hit everyone no matter where they are or what they are working on. In addition, hourly-paid employees have access to the same information flow as salaried employees.
We have prioritized that the communication in the app can go both ways by giving users the opportunity to interact with the postings in the form of "like" or to "comment".
On the social wall, users themselves have the opportunity to share good experiences, tips or important information with the rest of the colleagues. It helps to strengthen the personal relationship, as well as give all employees with something on their minds an opportunity to share.
Another purpose of the app is to gather all communication in one place, as we have learned that there are many different forums such as Facebook, Messenger, Telegram and SMS groups, which are used as internal communication tools. Here, communication is made about shift schedules, product knowledge or courses, among other things. All this must be gathered on one platform. That is why we have chosen to build a chat function with the option to create groups.
Schedule is also integrated so the employee can see their shift schedule.
